Wednesday September 5, 2007
The Associated Press is reporting that Ohio Congressman Paul E. Gillmor was found dead in his Washington D.C. apartment Wednesday morning by staffers when he failed to report to his office. No cause of death was given.

Gillmor, a Republican, represented Ohio's 5th Congressional District, which includes Crawford, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Huron, Pauling, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, and Wood Counties and parts of Ashland, Lucas, Mercer, and Wyandot Counties. He served on the House Committee of Financial Services and was the ranking House member on the Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. Gillmor, a graduate of Ohio Wesleyn University, was in his tenth term in Congress.

Mr. Gillmor is survived by his wife, Karen Gillmor, and their five children.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Gillmor's family, friends, and colleagues.
