A Look at the New Akron Art Museum

Tuesday July 10, 2007
WOW! was my immediate reaction as I viewed the new Akron Art Museum for the first time. One wouldn't necessarily think that a 19th century Italian Renaissance building would work well along side a 21st century glass and steel "gravity defying" structure, but both buildings emerge from the marriage better than they could possibly be alone.

The new 63,300 square-foot complement to the original Akron Art Museum will open on July 17, 2007 and more than triples the museum's gallery space. It also adds a spectacular new vista to the already striking downtown Akron skyline.

After the museum's being closed for over three years, you're probably as excited as I was to see the interior. Join me for a sneak peek at the new Akron Art Museum.
