Rock Stars Cars and Guitars

Monday July 9, 2007
Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not the only place to see Rock and Roll memorabilia this summer. The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn is going a little “funky” this season with its “Rock Stars Cars and Guitars” exhibit, which runs through September 30. The display, which is included with the regular museum admission, features 20 cars and 30 guitars used by some of rock and roll’s most recognizable names.

Among the objects on exhibit are a 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V (pictured at right), once owned by John Lennon; Van Halen’s 1932 Ford Phaeton Hot Rod; and Elton John’s 1948 Delahaye coupe. Among the guitars are those once played by Chuck Berry, Ted Nugent, BB King, the Beatles, and KISS.

The Henry Ford Museum is located just west of Detroit, about a three-hour drive from Cleveland, and is open daily from 930am until 5pm. Admission is $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, $10 for youth, and free for members and those 4 and under.
