Cleveland's Doomed Breuer Building in the NY Times

Wednesday June 20, 2007
The Cleveland Trust/Ameritrust Tower, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1971, has been the subject of much controversy in town. First, the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission voted to tear down the modernist building. Then, it was given a temporary reprise, at least until the Planning Commission meets again on June 29.

Now, the NY Times (parent company to About.com) has jumped in with their comments. In a June 19 article, the Times likens tearing down the Breuer building to destroying lesser works by Picasso because they weren't his best efforts.
