Cleveland Hazardous Waste Collection

Do you have old paint sitting in your garage or basement? How about that weed killer you'll never use now that you've become an organic gardener? Batteries? Motor oil? even old mercury thermometers? All of these are potentially hazardous materials and require special handling to dispose of.

The city of Cleveland is accepting all of these materials at their recycling center at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea on May 12 (2007) from 9am to 4 pm. There is no charge for dropping off items. The city will recycle what they can and properly dispose of the rest. For a complete list of accepted items, click here. Getting rid of your hazardous household products is just one way to recycle in Cleveland.
