Looking to 2007
Wednesday December 27, 2006
As 2006 winds down, it's a good time to look ahead at 2007 and what's ahead for the new year. Among things to look forward to in 2007 are (in no particular order):- The Cleveland Museum of Art will host "Monet in Normandy" ("Waterlilies" from the exhibit is pictured at right) from February 18 to May 20, 2007.
- The Cleveland Museum of Art also is scheduled to begin opening its permanent galleries after the expansion project in late 2007.
- A new administration, led by Governor-elect Ted Strickland, will be sworn in on January 8.
- The Akron Art Museum opens its new facility in spring of 2007.
- The Cavs reach the playoffs again. (OK, it's not certain, but a girl can hope.)
- Opera Cleveland, the merger of the Cleveland Opera and Lyric Opera Cleveland, debuts in April with its production of Richard Strauss' Salome
- The Western Reserve Historical Society hosts "Diana: a Celebration," an exhibit about Princess Diana, including some of her clothes and other personal items, from February 23 to June 10, 2007.
