Ohio Smoking Ban Begins
Thursday December 7, 2006
The Ohio state-wide smoking ban went into effect at midnight, December 7. What does that mean to smokers? Is there anywhere you can still smoke? Well...not very many places. Outside venues are still ok...if you're not so close to the entrance of a building that the smoke can blow inside. Cabs are ok, so are designated hotel rooms and retail tobacco shops. Nursing homes are allowed to have separate designated smoking rooms. Except for your own home (if your spouse doesn't mind), that's about it.
If you've decided to quit, good for you and my best wishes. (I did it a long time ago.) For some help, consider these articles from around the About system:

I work in a place where they continue to break the law by smoking where they want. I think they are all delusional about the start of this ban. I am sick of smelling like like smoke and the president of the company just doesn’t care.
