Cleveland Museum of Art Announces New Acquisitions

Tuesday December 5, 2006
The Cleveland Museum of Art announced today that its trustees have approved the aquistion of works on paper by Rembrandt van Rijn and Thomas Gainsborough. Consistent with museum policy, no price was mentioned.

The Cleveland Museum of Art's permanent collection is currently closed during renovation. Special exhibitions, including "Barcelona and Modernity," now showing, and "Monet in Normandy," coming in February, are being shown. The permanent collection will reopen gradually, beginning in fall of 2007.
