Cleveland this Weekend: Indoor Amusement Park, Music, and More

Friday April 7, 2006
In addition to the Cleveland Indian's home opener Friday at Jacob's Field, there's a lot going on in the city. The annual Indoor Amusement Park starts Friday at the I-X Center and runs through the end of the month. It features a variety of midway-style rides, arcade games, and the Center's mammoth indoor ferris wheel.

The House of Blues is hosting 70s disco band, KC and the Sunshine Band on Friday, right after their stint singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at the "Jake." On Saturday, the concert venue switches gears for a concert by classic rock band, UB40.

Playhouse Square features a variety of interesting activities this weekend. The New York-based Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre performed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Children of Uganda, a group of two children, ages 2-14, from that African nation perform traditional dances, with the proceeds benefiting that war-torn nation. The Cleveland Opera's production of Puccini's "Turandot" ends on Saturday.

Whatever you do, have a great weekend!
