Cleveland Chooses a New School CEO
Saturday April 1, 2006
The Cleveland School Board voted unanimously Thursday night to hire Toledo school superintendent, Eugene Sanders as the next CEO for the Cleveland Public Schools. Cleveland Mayor, Frank Jackson approved the nomination on Friday. Mr. Sanders, 49, has been the head of Toledo's school system for six years. Prior to that, he was the director of the Doctoral Program in Leadership at Bowling Green State University and assistant principal at Southview High School in Lorain. Mr. Sanders holds a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, and a doctorate -- all from Bowling Green. Mr. Sanders is expected to start his new position in September. We wish him success at this difficult job.
