This Weekend in Cleveland: It's All About Music
Friday March 31, 2006
There's music everywhere in Cleveland this weekend.
The Cleveland Opera is performing Puccini's Turandot at Playhouse Square. Alternative musicians, the Stone Pony Band are playing at the House of Blues, and the Cleveland Playhouse is continuing their production of Dream a Little Dream of Me, a musical tribute to the 60s group, "The Mamas and the Papas." What's more: 60s crooner, Bobby Vinton is performing at the Mentor Center for the Arts, Three Mo Tenors are performing at Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall, and the Cleveland Orchestra is performing selections by Schoenburg and Bruckner at Severance Hall.
Lenten Fish Frys: It's Friday; it's Lent; and the fish are frying. Try the Perch fry for $7.95 at the Academy Tavern on Larchmere Blvd., the beer-battered cod dinner at Harry's on Route 21 in Independence, or the "all-you-can-eat" fish dinner for $10.99 at Hoggy's in Valley View or Crocker Park.
